ORLANDO, Fla. (Oct. 3, 2024) – During a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Poinsette Foundation and Family Promise of Greater Orlando unveiled four newly furnished rooms that will serve as temporary accommodations for families experiencing homelessness. The rooms were dedicated as the Poinsette Foundation Serenity Rooms.
“When families and their children walk into these spaces, we want them to have a welcoming, comfortable and dignified experience,” said Mia Poinsette, founder and executive director of the Poinsette Foundation. “Through these rooms, we’re also aiming to deter the harmful effects of economic insecurity that housing-insecure children often endure. This initiative reinforces our commitment to advocating for the needs of children in our community.”
For nearly 25 years, Family Promise of Greater Orlando has focused on helping families experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable housing and self-sufficiency through a community-based response.
